Birthday Card for a friend

I created this card for a friend's birthday this week.  I really love this stamp set as each card I make with it seems to turn out pretty.  I am excited to order my new items from the new catalog!!  So many great framelets to add to my collection.  The framelets have to be my favorite new items in the catalog.

MOJO245 - Hello Card

Wow it has been a very long time since I've stamped and posted to my blog.  I have been so busy at work and training for Ironman Lake Placid that I have not had much time to create.  I wanted to send my guy friend who lives in Vegas a little note to say hello.  I always find masculine cards to be so difficult.  I used the design over at Mojo Monday to help get this card started.

Stampin Royalty Challenge

Wow it has been a long time since I've posted any cards to my blog.  I have been very busy making jewelry for my Etsy shop.  You can check that out here at Christy's Crafty Creations.

The card I have to share with you today is using the sketch challenge over at Stampin Royalty.  I have a very good friend who qualified for the Boston marathon this year which is a very big accomplishment.  The race is a few weeks away so I wanted to send her a card to wish her luck.  I used the DSP from the salebration mini catalog which ends this week.  Salebration is an awesome time to shop at Stampin Up as you get free items for every $50 you spend!  If you want some free supplies, head over to my 24/7 online shop and order.

New etsy shop

Wow it has been a long time since I've posted anything.  I have started creating jewelry and am really excited about it.  I opened my Etsy shop yesterday and have already had one sale.  So come check me out on Etsy at Christy's Crafty Creations and like me on FB.

cQc #119 - thinking of you card

I love the new framelets in the mini occassions catalog.  I seem to be using those on all my cards lately.  I also used the paper doily die for the first time on this card.  This might be my favorite mini to date!!

I created this card for a co-worker whose mother has ovarian cancer.  The cancer has spread so it does not sound good.  I wanted to send her a card to let her know I was thinking about her and her family.

Heart Framelit Card

My mom's birthday is in a couple days and I wanted to get a card in the mail for her since I won't be able to help her celebrate this year.  I have been wanting to use my new Heart Framelits from the Occasions Mini Catalog and I just LOVE these.  They make quick and beautiful cards and designs.  I'm excited that Stampin Up will be producing more framelits in the future as these have to be one of my favorite tool.  I also submitted this card to The Paper Players card design challenge...the theme is love and well I sure hope my mom feels the love when she gets this!!

I used the new DSP that will be available starting January 24 in the Saleabration catalog.  Spend $50 and get a free product.  This year you can choose from so many great products including things that are in the main catalog.  This new DSP is Everyday Enchantment and also has a corresponding ribbon/brad pack.

The middle heart was embossed using the new Textured Impressions Embossing Folders in the new occasions mini.  You get three different folders in one item!  If you'd like to see the new Occasions Mini here!!

MOJO222 Challenge

My aunt sent me the most thoughtful gift for Christmas.  She made all the female cousins a very special charm necklace using charms from my Grandma's bracelet.  My grandma passed away this year and it has been hard on the whole family.  The necklace was such a surprise and such a wonderful gesture.  I wanted to make her a nice thank you card so I used this week's Mojo Monday Challenge.  I love the new in colors from Stampin Up.  I think the Pool Party and Calypso Coral make a pretty combo with a retro feel.

Inside of the card

I got this great idea from Mary Fish's blog about "re-gifting" cards.  I know that I put a lot of thought and love into the cards that I make so to think they just get thrown away makes me sad.  So I thought this idea of adding an insert in the card with your message so the card can be re-gifted was brilliant.  So I added a coordinating insert for my message and also put a little blurb about how the card can be reused since I wrote nothing directly in the inside.  I guess this could be considered a little take on the pay it forward mentality...send the card along to someone else.  :)

Birthday card for a friend

I am enjoying my day off stamping!  I have to say sleeping in on a Monday is just too devine!  I cased the below card from Mary Fish and really love how it turned out.  I used my NEW 1 1/4 square punch that I got off the clearance rack from Stampin Up.  I was able to get a lot of the punches I've been wanting from the clearance rack for super you want some more punches??  Well check out the clearance rack on my website and shop away!
