Irresistibly Yours DSP technique using background stamp

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  We are finally going to have a beautiful sunny day with warmer temperatures.  I can't believe I think the 50s is warm but after the last few weeks, I'll take anything above 40 degrees at this point.

Today I wanted to share a technique I saw on a YouTube video (Stamping School) using the Irresistibly Yours DSP that you can get for free with a $50 purchase.  The technique is to stamp a background image in memento black ink onto the DSP to create a background behind the embossed image already on the paper.  I used the Something Lacy background stamp from the Occasions Catalog.  After stamping the background stamp with memento ink on your piece of DSP, wipe off the excess ink from the paper to reveal the embossed image already on the DSP.  Once all the excess ink has been wiped off you'll be ready to move on to the next step.  You will then use a brayer to roll the ink color of your choosing over the entire piece of DSP to color the rest of the paper.  I used the pool party ink color for the last step.  By using a brayer, you cover any remaining parts of the DSP with color.  Be sure to wipe off the excess ink once more to get your final product.  I really love the way this looks.

Here is a close up of the paper.  You can see the something lacy background in black and the rest of the paper colored in the pool party.

Thanks for popping in and have a great weekend.  I hope to get some stamping done but also take advantage of the nice weather.

Happy Stamping!!
