Owl pillow box with matching card

I ran across this cute owl pillow box on Pinterest from Lynn at The Queen's Scene and knew I had to recreate it for my finance's niece's birthday.  She just LOVES owls so I wanted to create this pillow box and also a matching card.

For the pillow box I used the retired pillow box die to cut out the box in crumb cake.  I used some retired DSP to create the owl's chest piece.  I used various circle, oval, small heart, and flower punches to finish the rest of the pieces.  I just loved how this little guy turned out.  I tucked away a pair of owl stud earrings I picked up online inside the box.

For the card, I used the Celebrate Today with the corresponding Balloon Framelit Dies to create this cute card.  I used retired embossing folders to create the clouds and grass backgrounds.  I used the owl punch to create the little owl holding the balloons.  So cute!

Be sure to use sticky strip for the owl box because it needs some strong adhesive, even for the DSP strips that make his chest.  I tried using snail and it just wasn't strong enough.

I have a feeling I'll be making more of these cute little owl boxes.  I just love them!

Thanks for popping in and Happy Stamping!
