Fussy cutting Joyful Season stamp set for Christmas cards

Hello crafters!

After a few days of trying to come up with a Christmas card design for my cards this year, I finally created a card that I thought would be perfect.  I just love this stamp set Joyful Season and wanted to use this on my cards.  I first tried just stamping the cardinal with the branch on whisper white cardstock but it didn't pop like i wanted it to.  I also couldn't figure out how to attach it to the card front in a pleasing way.  I decided to try fussy cutting out both images and that gave me the wow factor I was looking for.

For the embossed background, I used the whisper white craft stamp pad to add some dimension to the embossed image.  I applied the ink directly onto the embossing folder before running it through the big shot with my crumb cake piece of cardstock.  Good news is that this embossing folder will carry over to the annual catalog next year!!  Yippee!!  I love the Woodland embossing folder as it gives the most beautiful embossed image.

Now who wants to help me fussy cut all these images for the large number of Christmas cards I need to make?!?!?!  I might have to come up with design #2 and send a variety of cards out this year.  I am pretty sure I'll be sick of cutting out birds and branches after a while.

How many Christmas cards do you send out?  Do you make your own or use store bought?

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!
