Watercolor wash background holiday card

Hi there stampers!  I feel like I am on a roll with making two holiday cards this week.  I am really getting into the holiday spirt, now to break out the decorations and get a tree.

For today's card I created a watercolor background using real red, mint macaron, and pear pizzazz inks.  I just love this non-traditional color combo for Christmas.  The mint macaron adds an extra something.

The tree is from the stamp set Peaceful Pines and was heat embossed with gold powder.  I used the coordinating framelits Perfect Pines to cut the tree out.  The word "joyful" is from the Joyful Season stamp set and I used the same color combo on the sentiment to mimic the background colors.  I fussy cut out the sentiment and layered these on top of some gold baker's twine.

I need to keep practicing getting a nice watercolor background.  This turned out decent but not exactly like I'd hoped it would.  Adding some flecks of gold gives the background something extra that it needed.

Thanks for stopping by and get your weekend started!  It's Friday!
