The antler design on this vellum just screamed winter and I immediately wanted to pair it with silver accents. This being a masculine card, I made sure to add plenty of black elements to keep the card manly but not enough to take away from the pops of metal.
I layered the vellum onto a piece of whisper white cardstock by placing tiny dots of glue from the fine-tip glue pen onto the black antlers in the design so the glue would be hidden. I then layered this onto a top folding piece of smokey slate cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
Do you recognize that silver doilie? Did you guess the spider web doilies from the holiday catalog? Winner winner!! I cut the center of one of the doilies and then covered it with versamark ink that I heat embossed in silver. LOVE it! I then used some silver thread to add more pop of silver.
The happy is cut out of basic black using our Hello You Thinlits and then layered on a foam sheet that was cut using the same die to add dimension. This is a quick way to add dimension to die cuts instead of using tons of dimensionals cut into impossibly small pieces that you struggle to stick on the back.
I hope to get another project up before we head to the beach for the holidays. I will be taking some watercolor supplies with me to practice my watercoloring skills while we relax during the quick break from work. I can't be without something crafty for too long!
Happy stamping and thanks for stopping by!
