Finally back stamping - What I Love Hello Card

Hi there stampers!  Well, have you been wondering why I haven't blogged in a while?  Well I have been super sick...like on my death bed sick for the past week and a half.  It was just awful and I couldn't do anything other than lay in bed wondering when I'd get better.  I am super happy to be back in my craft room stamping and creating.

For today's card, I went bold with the colors and like how it turned out.  I tested a few other background colors - calypso coral and blushing bride, but didn't like how the blues looked on them.  The delightful dijon knocked my socks off and I really like how the boldness of the card turned out.

I used the Sale-a-bration stamp set What I Love to create the layers on the flowers.  I used a white craft ink base then stamped the two blue colors on top - island indigo and night of navy.  The white background makes the other colors really pop against the delightful dijon cardstock.

I cut out the hello sentiment from the Hello You Thinlits in island indigo cardstock and used a sponge dauber to add night of navy ink to just the bottom to create an ombre look.  I added dimension to the die cut by layering this onto a piece of craft foam cut with the same die.  A heavy coating of Wink of Stella gives it that awesome sparkle.

The final piece was layered onto an A2 card base made of night of navy cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment "sunshine" from the Crazy About You stamp set onto some vellum and added this below the die cut hello.

It's great to be back creating.  I am getting some artist grade watercolors today and can't wait to try some of the things I've learned taking the Watercolor for Cardmakers: Intermediate Techniques class over at Online Card Classes.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!
