Watercolor with Gansai Tambi Using Helping Me Grow

Well hello there stampers!  Wow it has been WAY TOO LONG since I've shared a project and also since I've had time to do any stamping.  Wow things have been busy around here and I am sad to say that has left little time for my craft room.  All work and no stamping makes me a sad little girl...ok woman because I am too old to be called a girl.
I have a card to share with you today that I watercolored using my Gansai Tambi watercolors and I just love how it turned out.  I got my set of watercolors from Amazon and have not used them as much as I anticipated.  So I decided to get them out to make this card.

For the card, I stamped the flower image from the Helping Me Grow stamp set that is in the 2016 Occasions Catalog in Versamark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder.  This stamp set has the most beautiful flower images that are great for watercoloring and guess what??  I hope I can tell you this but this stamp set was carried over to the new Annual Catalog!!  Woohoo!  So you can go ahead and purchase this stamp set now and not have to worry about it retiring.

After heat embossing the flower image, I started watercoloring using various shades of pink and green from the GT watercolor set.  I added some yellow color to the centers and then created a rectangle shape of a blue wash around the flowers.  I added some ink splatters to give it that organic look.  For the last coloring step, I added some of the beautiful pearl color in this GT set over the flowers to give them an extra shine.  It turned out gorgeous!

I heat embossed in gold the sentiment from the Cottage Greetings stamp set (not retiring either- woohoo) on a piece of vellum.  I adhered this to the watercolor panel by tucking the ends of the vellum around the back and taping down.  I added a strip of gold foil cardstock to the side and this was added to a card base made from blushing bride with foam adhesive.  This card was surprisingly easy to make.

I think I'll try using the other flower image in this stamp set to make a Mother's Day card.  Thanks for stopping by!
