I started the card by stamping the largest mason jar in versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder onto some whisper white cardstock. I wanted to create the look of goldfish inside the jar but wanted them to be kissing. You only get one fish in the stamp set so I decided to try the mirror image technique to stamp the fish in the opposite direction to get them into kissing position. It is super hard to describe so perhaps I'll make a video this week to share how I did this technique. Once you see it in a video, it makes a lot more sense how I did it. So be on the lookout for that to come!
I stamped the two goldfish in tangelo twist ink and then stamped the heart in watermelon wonder. I then used an aqua painter to create the water inside the jar using some pool party ink. If you use are careful with the amount of water you use, you can add color to whisper white cardstock with an aqua painter or paint brush. It did not tear or make the paper pill during this process. I added some wink of stella to the heart and then covered the entire jar with Versamark ink and then heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder. This gave the look of glass and I like how it deepened the colors. I stamped the jar lid with some Archival Basic Gray ink and heat set this with clear embossing powder as well. I then cut the jar out with the coordinating die.
After cutting out the jar, I popped this up on a piece of vellum using dimensionals and then adhered the vellum onto a piece of emerald envy cardstock cut slightly larger than the vellum. The stitching around the vellum was done by using one of the rectangle dies from Lawn Fawn. I love how the faux stitching looks on projects using those dies.
To create the striped background, I used the new Diagonal Striped background stamp and stamped this in emerald envy ink onto a piece of whisper white. This was then layered onto a landscaped folding A2 card base made from thick whisper white. I then adhered the jar piece to the card front in the middle of the card and finished it off with some white enamel dots and rhinestones. I stamped the hello sentiment from the Jars of Love stamp set using emerald envy ink onto some whisper white and fussy cut it out. This was adhered using dimensionals.
