I started with 8.5 x 11 inch soft suede cardstock and cut two pieces in half on the 8.5 side to give me 4 pieces of 4.25 x 11 sized cardstock. I then scored three of the pieces in half at the 5.5 mark. I only needed three of the four I cut. After scoring at 5.5, on two of the pieces I scored them again at the 1/2 inch mark from each long side so when you folded the piece in half the result was a 5.5 x 4.25 card with score marks at the 1/2 inch on each of the long sides.
I then glued one piece to the other by adhering two of the 1/2 inch score marks together to form one long accordion style piece of cardstock. For the outer cover, I took the remaining piece of cardstock and scored it at the 5.5 mark but then scored another 1/2 from each side of the 5.5 score mark. This would allow additional room to glue the other pieces to the center and still be able to close the cover.
I cut a heart shape out of the front cover using some retired heart framelits I had in my stash. I then cut a heart frame from some real red cardstock using the same framelits and glued to the front of the cover. I cut out the love sentiment from the Sunshine Wishes thinlits out of some silver glimmer paper and adhered to the front as well. I then added the pictures and some black frames I made using basic black cardstock and retired square framelits. I added some hearts made from punches to decorate the pictures.
I am so happy to have this project completed. I have been looking at the pictures for a couple weeks and was just too sad to put the album together but I really wanted to do something special for my BFF. I hope this brings them smiles and memories of all the times they shared with sweet Savannah. She was a great dog and will be missed.
